Nudie’s Honky Tonk

The architecture of this space is rather straightforward, relying on texture and atmosphere to give it character.

My challenge in bringing this illustration to life, therefore, was to render that character. Aside from piecing together a few models from the warehouse to represent the “Nudiemobile”, that character was largely achieved in post-production; from the logos “painted” on the walls to the exciting lighting that fills the space with accents and color. But not even all those effects could fully activate the scene. More than 60 specially selected scale figures were added to give the final image its unmistakable Nashville flair.

This behind the scenes breakdown
demonstrates how I took the bland base rendering to a vibrant finish.

Project Fun Facts:

  • $10 million project themed after the tailor who created the ‘Nudie Suit’.
  • Interior features over $2 million in rare country music memorabilia, Nudie’s suits, and the 20 foot long $400,000 Cadillac El Dorado Nudiemobile.
  • Three story atrium greets visitors to the home of Nashville’s longest bar.
